All my ewes have been sold, they should begin lambing at the end of March 2012. Note: Royal Whites are height to weight proportionate framed sheep, not wool/hair mixed fiber sheep being called hair sheep out there, all sheep shed some fiber. The larger frames helps eliminate the prolapse and lambing problems, leg and hoove problems of short legged ewes as well as more lamb carrying capacity and better foraging capabilties for feed. The pure hair born lambs allow faster cleanup by their mothers at birth, thus gaining a survival advantage. Royals are high in parasite resistance, versus wool breeds and wool/hair blended shedding sheep. They don't ever need sheared, since they are pure hair covered, unlike many wool/hair types that must be shorn on their backs which some claim protect their wool/hair sheep from sunburn on the backs. Pure hair sheep have less external parasite problems as well. Royals are designed for hardiness and production. Regards, Bill Hoag (Cell (new) 724-681-8755 royalwhitehairsheep@aol.com
